The Festival

This event is a family event, a family steeped in Cuban music and dance oral history. Domingo and Luanda Pau invite their lifelong friends from the famous Tropicana Cabaret, the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional, I.S.A. and the great voice of Iray Rodriguez to create a unique learning experience that begins each day with a presentation and training in the Yoruba dances of the Orishas. The dance assistants and teachers are chosen and directed by Domingo and Luanda Pau.

Parties, rumba shows and a lot of dance instruction make up the main part of this meeting. Assistance with orientation, other program activities can be arranged. The event has limited space to maintain the quality of the experience, all levels are welcome.

Included three nights after class activities = Private lessons can be arranged with the dance or music teachers.

Ronald Y Su Explosion Rumbera

‘Ronald y su Explosion Rumbera’... has exploded onto the streets of Havana to bring their new style, but not forgetting the traditional flavour of Cuban rumba and folkloric dance. Ronald, well know in the world of Cuban rumba, has taken a new direction with this group of young, talented musicians and dancers and created a new generation of rumba music and dance. From the first note, this group gets you moving and creates a party atmosphere that is raw and full of passion!

Cuban Party And Community Project

In a really Cuban location - Pogolotti - and one of the activities most appreciated by previous attendees. The party includes live music with Rumba, spontaneous appearances from local celebrities, Salsa, Dj, and Food - Cuban Caldoza, Roasted Lechón, rum. We also run a community project in Pogolotti.

"El Malecón Habanero" known as the best place in the city and leaves visitors with no option but to visit - this time you do it with AfroCubanDanceFestival team. In broad daylight, facing the sea and open sky, we will create the perfect environment to have fun dancing Rumba, Salsa, Reggaeton & more. A way to gain more self-confidence and to feel closer to Cuban culture, an unforgettable experience.

Domingo Pau
Domingo Pau the legend of the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba. Enjoy his insights and methods developed over 54 years of teaching in Afro-Cuban dance. Domingo has really developed a teaching method that transmits his knowledge and experiences. This is an opportunity that will remain forever in the memory of all the participants.
Yalennys Natacha Zulueta Rodriguez
Yalennys Natacha Zulueta Rodriguez Master in theoretical studies of dance @ I.S.A, Cuba. Bachelor of dance art specializing in folk dance and graduate degree of pedagogy in popular dances. Natacha runs the afternoon social dance classes
Luanda Pau
At the end of each day, a recap and reflection session lead by Luanda gives another learning method for all attendees.
Yohana Dusatz
Yohana Dusatz Currently working as first dancer and teacher at Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba, Master of the folkloric dance at the Acosta Danze academy, Havana and our principle female teacher during our festival.
Assistants
The assistants' are chosen by Domingo Pau, who recruits Dancers from other Afro-Cuban groups such as Orisha Oko and Grupo Alafia in Havana. This new generation of dancers really brings something special to our event.
Lazara Napoles Collazo
Graduated from the E.N.A and Principal Soloist, show rehearsal and teacher of the National Folkloric Ensemble of Cuba, with more than 30 years of professional experience, Lazara is one of our primary teachers.
Domingo Pau
